Professional Organizations in Computer Science

ACM (Association for Computing Machinery)
ACM, the world's largest computing society, supports the professional growth of its members by providing opportunities for life-long learning, career development, and professional networking. The ACM also has many special interest groups focused on specific interests including SIGCSE (Special Interest Group on Computer Science Education) which hosts the annual ICER (International Computing Education Research) Workshop and SIGCHI (Special Interest Group for Computer-Human Interaction.)

ALISE (Association for Library and Information Science Education)
ALISE is a non-profit organization that serves as the intellectual home of faculty, staff, and students in library and information science, and allied disciplines. 

ASIS&T (Association for Information Science and Technology)
ASIS&T is a non-profit membership organization for information professionals. ASIS&T sponsors an annual conference as well as several serial publications, including the Journal of the Association for Information Science and Technology (JASIST) and the association's Bulletin. The association connects job seekers with potential employers; and continuing education programs for information professionals.

IEEE The world's largest technical professional organization for the advancement of technology. The IEEE has many sub sections speaking to specific interests (including the IEEE Computer Society, which sponsors workshops and conferences, publishes a variety of peer-reviewed literature, operates technical committees, and develops IEEE computing standards. As well as the IEEE FIE Frontiers in Education, which hosts a major international conference about educational innovations and research in engineering and computing.) 

Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics 
Includes a special interest section on Discrete Mathematics & Theoretical Computer Science.
Researchers in this area have established important connections with mainstream areas of pure and applied mathematics, and research techniques are drawn from a range of fields, including algebra, topology, geometry, probability, analysis, and logic.
