Using Mergent Intellect for Locating Companies

There are a number of databases that allow you to generate targeted lists of companies. For ease of use and ability to customize your search, try Mergent Intellect first.

Mergent Intellect: Contains private and public U.S and international business data, industry news, facts and figures, executive contact information, and industry profiles. This database includes company information that can be filtered by location, industry, and company size. Use their advanced search to build your list of targeted companies.

  • TIP: Make sure you select "add to criteria" as you are adding limiters to your search.

Other Databases with Company Information

D&B Hoovers: Provides in-depth business information about nearly one million companies, including around 600,000 large and mid-sized companies in the United States and Canada; 260,000 companies in Asia and the Pacific; and nearly 100,000 other companies globally. Use the "build a company list" feature to generate a targeted company list.

Data Axle: Compiled from white- and yellow-pages telephone directories, Data Axle Reference provides a comprehensive directory of all households and businesses in the United States. Select "additional filters" to build your list.
