Yes, you can access databases remotely. When you are off campus, you will be prompted to prove you're a University of Michigan - Dearborn student, by logging in with:
- your 8-digit UMID
- your password
If you get a Proxy Error or a 502 Error while trying to access the library's databases, journal articles, e-books, or streaming videos from off campus, you could try using a VPN (Virtual Private Network) connection. VPN allows your computer to connect as if it were located on the UM-Dearborn campus. For more information about VPN and set-up instructions, go to the ITS VPN Guide.
Contact the ITS Service Desk if you have any questions or problems with installing VPN. If you encounter any problems once you have installed VPN, go to the ITS VPN Problem page for help.
