Exporting Files - Zotero, Mendeley and EndNote

If you want to export files from RefWorks  to

other citation products, here are the steps:

1. RefWorks  to Zotero

  • Login to RefWorks
  • Go to your RefWorks folder(s) or to "All documents"  If you are exporting more than one folder, you must export them separately.
  • Click on the Share tab. Select "Export References" from the dropdown menu
  • Use the BibTex or RIS Format for Zotero.
  • Save your file, then open Zotero.

 

  In Zotero, select Import from File menu

Select your saved RefWorks file.

Follow the prompts to import the file.

 

Mendeley

RefWorks to Mendeley

Login to RefWorks

  • Go to your RefWorks folder(s) or to "All documents."  If you are exporting more than one folder, you must export them separately.
  • Click on the Share tab. Select "Export References" from the dropdown menu
  • Use the BibTex or RIS Format for Mendeley
  • Save your file, then open Mendeley.

 

In Mendeley, go to Add files.

 

Select the file you just saved from RefWorks.

Open the file.

The references will be added to the All Documents file

EndNote

RefWorks to EndNote

Login to RefWorks

  • Go to your RefWorks folder(s) or to "All documents."  If you are exporting more than one folder, you must export them separately. 

  • Click on the Share tab. Select "Export References" from the dropdown menu. 

  • Use the BibTex or RIS Format. 

  • Save your file, then open EndNote.

In EndNote, go to Collect, then Import References.

Click Choose File and go to your saved file.

Select Refman RIS from the Import Option drop down menu.

Choose New Group and create a folder for your file.

Choose Import
