Lots of databases allow you to apply a variety of filters to your search to help improve and narrow your search results. Look for a "peer reviewed" filter to help narrow your search results to scholarly sources. This page will help you locate these filters in different databases.
Mardigian Search:
Mardigian Search, and many other databases, allow you to narrow your search results to only include peer reviewed articles. Within your Mardigian Search results page, select "peer reviewed" from the sidebar navigation:
Library Databases:
When you are in a library database, look for a box to check that says “peer reviewed journals” or “scholarly articles” or “academic articles”. This is usually found directly beneath the main search box.
Tip: Some databases allow you to limit your search to "Publication Type" or "Document Type". You would select "Academic Journal" or "Peer reviewed journal", etc.
