HRM 305 Human Resource Policy/Admin

PROJECT GOAL (per the syllabus): Write a paper on a popular press article that relates to a current hot topic in HR, January 2015 to present.

Suggested Research Strategy #1: Use the library’s Browzine feature to browse the table of contents of scholarly HR-related journals to see what topics have been introduced within the past few years.  

1. Click on the “Journals” button on the library’s home page, http://library.umd.umich.edu/, then type “human resources” as a search term.
2. Click on the subject folder “Human Resources Management” to see what e-journals are available for browsing.
3. Select a journal(s), then browse current or past issues.

Suggested Research Strategy #2: Use the Factiva database to see what HR topics are trending in the business press. You will retrieve articles from the Wall Street Journal and other major newspapers, news wires and popular magazines. A suggested search strategy is shown below.
