This guide will help you with your Research Paper project:

  1. Go to Online Library Access for help and instructions on accessing library databases, articles, and ebooks online

Method

  1. Go to Identify Methodologies  to:
    1. Identify appropriate research methodologies for your research area
    2. Find articles that justify the use of those methods and populations for your proposed research design

Introduction

  1. Go to Find Articles to find peer-reviewed journal articles about your research area
  2. Go to Develop Your Hypothesis for guidelines and instructions on developing a focused, well-defined research hypothesis
  3. Go to Read and Analyze Your Articles to find key information in your research articles
  4. Go to Use Your Articles for guidelines and instructions on using your articles to build your arguments and justifications for your proposed research study
  5. Go to Write Your Introduction for guidelines and instructions on putting together your introduction
  6. Go to Cite in APA Style for help formatting your citations in APA style
    • follow the In-Text Citations and Journal Articles links for guidelines and templates 

Discussion 

  1. Go to Find Articles if you need to find more peer-reviewed journal articles to explain your study results
  2. Go to Use Your Articles for guidelines and instructions on using your articles to build your evidence, arguments, and conclusions about what your study results mean
  3. Go to Write Your Discussion for guidelines and instructions on putting together your discussion
  4. Go to Cite in APA Style for help formatting your citations in APA style
    • follow the In-Text Citations link for guidelines and templates to put together your in-text citations
    • IF you're submitting the OPTIONAL References list for feedback, follow the Journal Articles link for templates and follow the Create an APA References List link and use the References list at the end of the Sample Student Paper

Research Paper 

  1. Go to Find Articles to find peer-reviewed journal articles about your research area
  2. Go to Use Your Articles for guidelines and instructions on using your articles to build your evidence, arguments and conclusions for your Discussion and Conclusions sections
  3. Go to Write Your Research Paper for guidelines and instructions on putting together each section of your Research Paper
  4. Go to Cite in APA Style to put together your citations and format your Research Paper and References List in APA style
    • follow the In-Text Citations and Journal Articles links for guidelines and templates 
    • follow the Create an APA References List link and use the References list at the end of the Sample Student Paper

Human Subjects Research & The IRB Application Process

You cannot collect data or run analyses without Institutional Research Board (IRB) approval for any planned research involving human subjects. Go to the eResearch Regulatory Management Human Subjects application page and click on the Human Subjects Study Application button in the upper left margin to start a new application.
