The library has four major streaming video partners, all of which may be used to stream videos for classroom use.
- Provides access to a number of streaming video collections that might be relevant for faculty, including Academic Video Online, the PBS Video Collection, Black Studios in Video and more.
- Primarily films, but may also include some episodes of television shows.
- Easily embed into Canvas Pages using the Embed Alexander Street tooltip (located under the "More External Tools" button).
- Includes streaming copies of several frequently-used documentaries.
- Can be browsed through on the Digital Site Licenses category page of the Mardigian Library Mediaspace.
- Can be embedded directly into Canvas pages using the MiVideo tooltip.
- Swank Digital Campus provides access to feature films, both classic and recent. While some documentaries are included, the platform is primarily a source for narrative films.
- Some licenses require the library to provide Swank with a written explanation of how the film will be used in a class, so if you are considering a request for a film located in Swank please provide that as well.
- Provides access to thousands of streaming videos, including feature films, documentaries, and television episodes (primarily educational or documentary programs).
It is important to note that both Swank Digital Media and Kanopy may require the Library to license the film before it is accessible. We recommend starting the process of requesting a video for licensing as early as possible to ensure that access is turned on in time for classroom use.
