Access to the Library's Online Resources

Off-Campus Access

When you are off-campus, the Mardigian Library recommends that UM-Dearborn users use the campus VPN (Virtual Private Network) in order to access library resources.

  • Go to the ITS VPN page to find installation Instructions for your device.
  • Problems installing or using the VPN? Go to the ITS VPN Problem page or contact the ITS Service Desk

On-Campus Access

There are three Wi-Fi networks on the UM-Dearborn campus. Make sure you're connected to the MWireless network. It is the only one that allows you to connect to online library resources without looking like you're off-campus. Follow the steps on the ITS Get Connected page to connect to the MWireless network. If you have any problems connecting to the wireless network, see WiFi: Common Troubleshooting Tips.

Troubleshooting Library Access Problems

You are connected to the VPN or MWireless, but are having or problems accessing the library's databases, online journals, ebooks, or streaming videos. What do you do?
