How to Visit the Library or Get Help

Online resources are always accessible from the Mardigian Library's home page

The Mardigian Library is located on the UM-Dearborn campus between the University Center and the Institute for Advanced Vehicle Systems. The entrance is on the campus side of the building. There is a drop box to return materials which is accessible from your vehicle on the parking lot side of the building.

Please visit the Mardigian Library's home page for information on current building hours of operation and any restrictions which may be in place.

If you need general library help, you can send us a live chat message during our virtual business hours or email us at ask-the-mardigian@umich.edu and someone will get back to you ASAP.

If you need general research help, you can also arrange for a meeting with the next available librarian through this link https://library.umd.umich.edu/us/appt.php

If you need in-depth help or research support, support for your courses, or making requests for materials, please reach out to your subject librarian directly.

Accessing Resources Remotely

On-Campus Access

There are three (3) Wi-Fi networks on UM-Dearborn campus. Make sure you're connected to the MWireless network. It is the only one that allows you to connect to online library resources without looking like you're off-campus. Follow the steps on the ITS Get Connected page to connect to the MWireless network. Go to the ITS MWirelessTroubleshooting page if you have any problems with the MWireless network.

Off-Campus Access

When you are off-campus, you will be prompted to login to the library's databases with your UM-Dearborn uniqname and the same password you are already using for other UM-Dearborn services (such as email and Canvas). You are no longer required to create or use a Library PIN to access library accounts or the library's online resources.

Some of our databases require use of our VPN to access them remotely, so as a general rule, I recommend logging in to the VPN before beginning your search to save the frustration of having to log in and clear your cache midway through your search.

Troubleshooting Access Problems
