Print Journals are a great way to stay up to date on what is happening in your field of study. Next time you are near the library pick up a print journal and browse through it to find out what is going on in your field right now and what research is happening to stay part of the current movements. Print journals are located in the Mardigian Library on the second floor just off the stairs with the newest arrivals in the cardboard file holders at the end of each title's section.
Many print books on engineering topics can be found in the Mardigian Library. Browsing the stacks in person is a good way to see what books are available and to discover something you may not have even know you needed. If you are on campus, please come in in-person and see what you can find that may be helpful to you. Print books on engineering can be found all throughout the T section with information subdivided by particular specialty. While other sciences can be found in the Q section.
Of particular interest to mechanical engineers:
General Engineering books will have a call number beginning with the letter TA followed by any number.
Mechanical Engineering and Machinery will have a call numbers beginning with the letters TJ and followed by any numbers.
Production Management books can be found in the TS 100s.
Physics books will be located in the QC section.
Mathematics books will be found in the QA section.
The lettered prefixes are in alphabetical order (ie. T, TA, TB, etc). The TA, TJ, QA and QC sections are all located on the 4th floor of the library in the second row away from the stairs and elevator.
This link HERE is a good place to start if you are looking for a print book on a Industrial and Manufacturing Systems topic from the Mardigian Library. From here you can use the list of filters on the left side of the screen to narrow your search. A good way to narrow in this case would be to go to the drop down menu called "subject terms" and select "more" which will give you a whole list of tags to select with the check mark (this will prioritize books with those tags) or to "X" (this will exclude books with that tag.)
