The Mardigian Library has joined the Michigan Shared Print Initiative (MI-SPI) project.
MI-SPI is a collaborative approach to maintaining the print book collections of libraries at Michigan state-supported universities. When two MI-SPI libraries commit to retaining widely-held low-use titles, the other participating libraries can safely withdraw those titles from the shelves since the titles are still reliably available.
In January 2017, withdrawal lists will be sent to all faculty in their respective discipline areas. Faculty will be asked to provide input about what they wish to retain for the library collection. The deadline for input is Friday, March 10, 2017.
After faculty input, the library will begin withdrawing books. Books that are candidates for withdrawal are found in Withdrawal lists. For any concerns regarding these lists, please contact your library selector or the Mardigian Library Selectors group ML-Selectors-Group@umich.edu
