Certification for Mechanical Engineers:

• Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam -  first step in the process to becoming a professional licensed engineer

• National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) - Information on earning and maintaining your Professional Engineering Certification 

• Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) Office of the State of Michigan  -  Tracks and maintains state licensure of engineers in Michigan

• Tracking your CPCs - In order to maintain licensure engineers must continue to learn. This site gives information on various ways this can be done and helps you track your progress. Opportunities for continued learning are available through various professional organizations as well as qualified third-party companies.

Product Testing and Third Party Certifications:

• BREEAM - third party certification of the assessment of an asset’s environmental, social and economic sustainability performance, using standards developed by BRE

• LEED - USGBC - Building, designer, or portfolio environmental certification

• PFS-TECO - building products, health products, and manufactured structures

• ICC NTA - building product code evaluation and certification for a wide range of building products

• Cradle to Cradle - Circular design certification for products

• Energy Star - Energy use ratings and certification from the EPA

• Underwriter Laboratories - dedicated to advancing public safety through scientific knowledge,  conducts rigorous independent research, analyzes safety data, convenes experts worldwide to address risks, develops standards to guide safe commercialization of evolving technologies

Writing Center - The Writing Center supports UM-Dearborn students by providing one-to-one consultations on writing projects, presentations, assignments, and creative work.
