Remote course support from Mardigian Librarians

In case of prolonged campus/library closure, here are ways that librarians can support faculty for your courses.

During remote delivery of classes here are the ways librarians can support your courses:

GENERAL SERVICES:

  • You can always access the library website as well as our databases, ebooks, and streaming videos from off-campus. See the library's Online Access to Library Resources page for information and instructions about accessing the library's databases and resources from off-campus.
  • You can find out about additional (temporary) electronic resources on our Resource Offers guide
  • Librarians and Library Staff are available to answer questions from faculty and students during library hours, either by email (ask-the-mardigian@umich.edu) or chat (library.umd.umich.edu/ask).
  • Check out our online Course and Program research guides for help with course research assignments as well as independent studies, theses, and dissertations. Your subject librarian is available to create a customized guide specific to your course or project.
  • There are six research skills modules created by our librarians available in Canvas Commons. Go to Canvas Commons, and search "Mardigian Library" to find these and quickly import them into your Canvas course shell. Topics include:
  • We can set up Blue Jeans (or Google Meet) appointments for meetings and research consultations for classes, small groups, or individuals.
  • Your subject librarian is available to work with you to find solutions and offer resources that may be customized for your needs. Use the navigation links on the left-hand side of this page to find information for your program area. To contact your librarian directly, click on their link below:
