What databases should I use next?

  • Gale Directory Library – Use this database to find a professional association’s website since many associations publish annual state-of the industry reports or other statistics on their industry. Another approach is to use a search engine and enter “association” and the name of the industry as a search statement. (Example: beverages association)
  • Factiva - In the “Industry” field, select the industry you are searching; then, in the “Subject” field, select, “Selection of top stories / trends / analysis”; lastly, type your industry in the main search box at the top of the page. This search strategy will lead you to newspaper, magazine, or newswire articles on the current and future state of your industry.
