As of September, 2021, the Open Educational Resources (OER) Taskforce has been reconfigured as a standing campus committee (funded by and housed in the Mardigian Library) reporting to the Office of the Provost. Raya Samet (CEHHS Librarian) and Autumm Caines (Instructional Designer in the Hub) will co-chair the newly configured Open Education (OE) Campus Committee.
The committee is currently seeking members with interest in Open Education; please see the mission and structure documents for more information about expectations and roles of committee members, and send an email to the the co-chairs to express interest in serving.
Please watch this space for announcements about programs and initiatives, resources, and news in the coming months!
This guide contains resources about Open Educational Resources and will serve as the repository for the past work conducted by the OER Task Force, including presentations, surveys, and grants. The OE Committee will also update it with new resources as we get to work.
If you have questions or need support around Open Education, please contact the OE committee.
Open Education Conference Grants (2021)
In line with our mission and charge to “better understand the Open Education ecosystem” and “To recommend, promote, and support appropriate Open resources/pedagogies/practices on the UM-Dearborn campus”, co-chairs Raya Samet and Autumm Caines are excited to announce an opportunity for a limited number of current faculty, staff and students on our campus to attend the Open Education Conference for free! The conference is completely virtual this year and will run from October 18-22, 2021. Many of the sessions will be recorded but registration is required and does run $85 for faculty and $25 for students.
The Open Education Campus Committee wants to expand access to this conference by offsetting the cost of attendance. For students, we will directly pay registration costs, and for faculty and staff, we will reimburse registration costs upon completion of required expectations.
This form contains all of the information about expectations and is your portal to apply! Our resources are limited but we are excited to offer this opportunity to as many as we can. Deadline for applications is Monday, October 11, 2021
