Week 3 - Germany, National Socialism and the Jews

Okay, now up to this point we have been looking at the resources and trying to find basic or general information about the materials.  We have found books and web sites that deal with our topics.  However, you may be expected and should be able to go further.  Additionally, you can look at other secondary sources but in the article form this time.  This is especially true and possible when you are looking at primary source documents like Mein Kampf.  The secondary literature is full of materials that discuss this and can help you develop a better understanding of it.

You can start your search for articles on Mein Kampf by going to the Locating Articles option under the Secondary Resources tab above.  JSTOR would be a good place to start.

View the tuorial below on JSTOR and then try it out for yourself.  In addition to searching for information on something that is considered primary like Mein Kampf you can search for materials about Hitler for instance in JSTOR.  You can try a search for things like Hitler and Personality or National Socialism.  This database has a wide range of coverage.  You can also try the other databases available in the Locating Articles section above.

Utilizing JSTOR

Link to this tutorial to understand how to better use the JSTOR database and then give it a try on your own.

To view this tutorial in the best resolution it is recommended that you view it in a full screen option.  To do so once the video begins just click on the screen icon at the far right of the control panel at the bottom of the video.  To return to the small version and the LibGuide just remember to click on Esc on your keyboard.
