Locating Streaming Videos, Films, or Film Footage

Many of the streaming videos or films from the libraries' links are going to be of a documentary nature so in that sense they could be a mixture of primary source material as well as secondary source material.  Footage of an event or an interview of someone that was involved in an event may be considered primary source material but an interview of someone that was not involved in the event but maybe who is considered an expert on the subject would be considered secondary source material but still valuable in terms of understanding the event.

To locate databases the library has that index streaming videos or films go to the Mardigian Library HomepageThen locate the following link:

Once you arrive at the databases page select the Streaming Video or Film subject headings from the list illustrated in the image below:

This will take you to the databases the library recommends using to find streaming videos and films on various topics.

Also, to find Streaming Videos or Films you can do a Library Catalog search for Videos here: Video Search.  The difference here though is that most of these films will be on DVD or VHS in the library collection and not viewable online and you will have to retrieve them from the library.

Best Film Databases

Not all of the databases listed in the Streaming Video or Film sections have streaming videos or films but rather commentary on films.  Here are two databases that do have streaming videos and films that may be of interest to historians.
